Main problems of regional development in EU’s countries are analyzed in the monograph. The transformation of the policy that aims to govern this development and to smooth territorial imbalances are considered. A diversity of regions in European Union and an evolution of regional policy at EU level are researched in the first chapters of the book. Subsequent chapters are devoted to the in-depth study of a situation in individual EU countriregional policyes such as Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Poland, Greece, and Cyprus. The book identifies regional problems that exist in these countries, features of national regional policy making, and an adaptation of its instruments to regional policy at EU level. The authors pay special attention to the principles of regional policy at the present stage of its implementation that includes 2007–2013 years.
