The article deals with the current and emerging problems of the Multilateral Trade System, i.e. WTO. In the beginning the author analyzes the results of the 10th Ministerial Conference in Nairobi emphasizing the appearance of the split among members, for the first time since 2002, on the fundamental issue of the Doha round mandate. The author further suggests that current multilateral trade governance is far more complex than ever before. The international trade changed profoundly. But the WTO did not adapt to the changes. The megaregional trade agreements (MRTA) like TPP, TTIP might provide trade with some modern rules but cannot bring universal solution. The author believes that it is time to start to consider a system of multi-pillar global trade governance with the WTO as a central pillar.
