Inflation targeting: modern reassessment

The article deals with inflation targeting as current monetary policy framework in industrialized countries. The background and prerequisites of inflation targeting and flexible targeting as its dominant variant are given great attention. The performance of inflation targeting in numerous countries is detailed by the authors. The accomplishments of inflation targeting as well as its modern negative assessments, both moderate and radical, are analysed.
