Belarus is a strategic ally of Russia. The corresponding provision is enshrined in the Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation, where, as one of the regional priorities, the course on expanding strategic cooperation with Belarus within the Union State with the aim of developing integration processes in all areas, as well as deepening and expanding integration between countries within the framework of Eurasian Economic Union. In turn, Russia for Belarus is also a strategic ally and main economic partner. The Russian market is a key consumer of the lion's share of Belarusian products, and not only military (as is commonly believed - although the Belarusian military-industrial complex, of course, is an important component of the Union State defense industry), but also civilian and agricultural products. In the article the author conducts a retrospective analysis of the social and political consequences of the appointment of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus M.V. Babich through the prism of opposition electronic resources of Belarus. In the work, the methodology of sociological and political sciences was used: the method of structural analysis and the method of political analysis, as well as the content analysis of the source base.
