The article gives a current analysis of the impact of U.S. sanctions on the Russian economy. Based on the study of statistics, expert judgments, a large number of sources, the authors come to the conclusion about the double impact of sanctions by the United States and countries supporting them on Russia. On the one hand, it is a decrease in the rate of GDP growth down to negative values, a decrease in the volume of foreign trade turnover. On the other hand, the barrier to imported goods has led to the revitalization and even development of some of its own industries and agriculture. Russia has become a grain exporter from importer, coming out on top in the world. The development and production of new types of weapons contributed to the strengthening of the country's defense capability and sovereignty, allowed to confidently hold the second position in the arms market after the United States. The positive balance of foreign trade allowed the Bank of Russia to accumulate significant international reserves of $558.9 billion. A number of major projects in the country have been implemented or are in the process of being completed. The volumes of foreign trade are restored, only partners are changing. The West has also felt the negative impact of sanctions on foreign trade and GDP growth, but it is also finding workarounds.
