The monograph is devoted to the analysis of the place of Russia in international science and technology cooperation. The advantages and problems of such cooperation are analyzed in three areas, according to which the monograph is structured. The first area is related to the international cooperation of universities and Academy institutes in fundamental sciences, including processes of Russian participation in European science and technology cooperation. The second area deals with the cooperation in Russian territory, and includes analysis of international and foreign science foundations. The third area is devoted to the analysis of inter-firm and inter-industry cooperation in space and ICT industries. In each of the chapters authors suggest directions of improvements that may be made in government policy in order to facilitate Russia’s involvement in international cooperation and to increase the prestige of the country in the areas of science and technology.
