In the globalization era, the mankind faces many problems that can be resolved only by joint efforts. The most important, and the most complex, one is substitution of the state as the regulator of economic, social, and cultural processes within countries during the last five to seven millenniums by some other regulatory mechanism of a global scale. In order to identify the core of this matter, the author has attempted to analyze it from a macro-historical standpoint, and also evaluate the main approaches of theorists and practitioners to shaping the future mechanism of global governance. The pamphlet is addressed to scholars, post-graduates, students, as well as everyone interested in the future of a national state in the globalization era.
