The author draws readers' attention to the importance of peacekeeping activities of states in the context of globalization of all world processes and the continuing threat of escalation of internal and regional armed confl icts. Of particular importance is peacekeeping, against the backdrop of civil wars and the intensifi cation of the forces of international terrorism represented by radical Islamist groups. In the article the contribution of Russian Federation is analysed to international peacemaking activity, basic directions of our participating in this important aspect of worldwide policy and prospect of it’s activation by the interested Russian ministries and departments.
