In the context of the dynamic development of space activities (SA), the increasing of its scale and the rapid expansion of its participants, cooperation matters are becoming ever more significant. This is particularly true for BRICS countries, which include major space powers such as Russia, China, and India, as well as Brazil, which is gaining strength in the space sector. The authors explore the opportunities and directions for BRICS countries' cooperation in the field of space activities, their role and place in global space sector. They also consider security issues and the BRICS countries' positions within the current trend towards the weaponization of space. Essentially, this is the first attempt to identify critical points in the space activities of BRICS countries, whose cooperation mechanism has officially entered a new phase.
