The article attempts identifying and analyzing the crisis of liberalism, which, in turn, is closely linked to the crisis of political democracy, the ideas of the human rights and freedom. The main attention is focused on justification of the thesis that in the context of fundamental changes in the socio-cultural, political and cultural infrastructures of modern western society undergoes absolutization, reaching to the mutation of some of the basic provisions of liberalism. The author shows that the essence of this phenomenon consists in refusing a certain part of the intellectual and political establishment of the western countries from traditional values, institutions, moral norms, etc., under the banner of the struggle for human rights and freedom.
