This volume of IMEMO’s series «Global Development» is a result of the all Russia academic conference for young scientists studying international issues (December 5–6, 2012) held in the IMEMO RAS. Authors come from different think tanks and universities. The book is focused on various forms of competition and conflict in international relations. The major topics include regional conflicts, the instability of global economic development, rivalries in the home and foreign politics of European countries and the US.
