The book is devoted to regional aspects of Big Business’ investment strategies and the part it plays in the economy of the regions of Russia. The authors analyze the process of the formation of Big Business in Russia and the geographical distribution of the real sector industries (oil industry, oil-refining industry, natural gas industry, coal mining, power industry, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, chemical and petrochemical industries, different branches of mechanical engineering, timber industry, woodworking and pulp-and-paper industries, building materials industry, agro-industrial complex). Particular attention is given to the analysis of regional strategies of Russian and foreign companies, as well as to comparisons between different regions from the point of view of investment attractiveness.
