 Europe is Russia’s traditional partner in foreign trade and investment. European direct investment contributes to the stable growth and diversification of Russian economy as well as the enhancement of its competitiveness. They affect the development of the national market. The article covers the features of European investment in Russian economy and the role of European FDI in its modernization. The article is also concerned with industrial and territorial location of European investment. The intermediary role of offshore companies in the investment process is analyzed.
