The paper analyses major threats and challenges to international security in the Pacific in its wide and complex interpretation. The authors suggest that problems and contradictions in this region result from social, political and economic imbalances, which exist in this region. Accordingly, a sustained and comprehensive consolidation of security in the region is only possible on the basis of completely new architecture, which would make it possible to reduce the scale of international and domestic imbalances in the region and control their effects. This approach should result in building a new trans-Pacific multilateral system for security and co-development in the region on the principles of non-destabilizing inequality and hierarchical polycentricism.
