The electronics industry of the Southeast Asian countries has continued to attract a large amount of foreign direct investment in recent years, which underlines the importance of the region as a major global manufacturing center. Sustained FDI in electronics, in particular semiconductors, has helped the region achieve strong growth in investment in 2021-2022. During these years, investments in the production of semiconductors and other electronic components have grown significantly. In recent years, multinational corporations have taken on many high-value projects in the region. Many of these billion dollar projects are due to be completed over the next few years and involve ongoing investment commitments and capital expenditures.
