Despite the pandemic, investors in the region have been very active, especially in the electric vehicle value chain. Sectors that have received the most attention in this regard include nickel mining and smelting, battery and electric vehicle manufacturing, related research and development and investment in new infrastructure. included the construction of factories for the production of batteries for electric vehicles, as well as the expansion and modernization of production facilities for the production of electric vehicles by traditional car manufacturers, new market entrants and other TNCs in the value chain.
