Currently, economic cooperation between the Southeast Asian countries and the United States is carried out only on a bilateral basis and, as shown by the calculations presented by the author, it is generally favorable for them. First of all, this concerns trade: it is characterized by stability and an ever growing surplus for the countries of the region. The commodity structure of mutual trade is quite favorable for Southeast Asian countries: in their exports to the USA, 75% are machinery and transport equipment, as well as finished industrial products, and in imports from the United States almost 80% are machinery and transport equipment, as well as chemical goods. The US investments in the ASEAN countries are consistently high. Prospects of economic relations of Southeast Asian countries can be considered favorable.
