The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the economic cooperation between India and the countries of Tropical Africa in the area of food security. It briefly examines the history of the agricultural sector's development and studies the current state of agriculture in these regions. The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of this cooperation and identify the key challenges that hinder its progress. The study is based on an analysis of statistical data, includes a qualitative content analysis of government strategies and programs, as well as a comparative analysis of agricultural development trends and cooperation projects. The study notes that, despite the differences in economic development levels, India and countries in Tropical Africa face similar challenges in the area of food security. These challenges include dependence on climate conditions and a need for innovation. The article identifies a model of mutually beneficial cooperation between India and African countries: India exports technology, knowledge, and capital, while African countries receive tools for production growth and market access. Several factors that limit the effectiveness of this partnership are highlighted: low adaptation of Indian technologies to local conditions and the environmental and social risks associated with large land investments. The article also discusses the duality of India's motivations in this partnership. While India's actions may be driven by both altruistic goals, such as humanitarian aid and positioning as a leader of the Global South, they are also driven by pragmatic interests, such as access to resources and markets.
