This article is devoted to the analysis of the degree of impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic on both economic development in general and on the economic provision of military security in particular, of the state that currently ranks second in the ranking of leading countries in military spending, the PRC. The international experience of adjusting military budgets and reviewing issues related to the economic provision of military security in the post-crisis period is summarized. The main reasons are listed and the current results of the military modernization of the PRC carried out since the beginning of the XXI century are presented. A specific feature of the economic provision of military security of the PRC at the present stage is revealed, and it is shown that the dynamics of military expenditures of this country is directly related to the dynamics of its economic development.
