The article attempts to analyze a broader range of cooperation between Russia and the Visegrad countries, including trade and investment ties and relations in the field of tourism and the research and development sector. The general trend of the last period is the decrease of Russia’s importance for the Visegrad Group in the economic sphere because of the external challenges and internal factors of a political and economic nature. The pandemic has caused strong negative consequences for the Russian-Visegrad relations, where recovery processes took place after events in 2014. The development of tourism in the countries, the importance of partners for each other, and the reasons for a decline are evaluated in the tourism sphere, one of the most suffered sectors of the world economy due to the pandemic. The current state and opportunities of the countries for the development of research relations are analyzes. Within the foreign trade framework, the conclusion about the decreasing of Russian direction’s importance for Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic and the same but slower nature trend for Russia is made. Due to the small volume, the Russian-Visegrad investment ties are influenced by many crisis processes, but recovery processes occur because of mutual interest. Russia plays an unusual role as an exporter of capital for the Visegrad Group, while the Visegrad market does not lose its importance for Russian investments. The factors that stimulate and limit the development of relations between the “four” and Russia are pointed out. The results of an expert survey about possible areas of cooperation are presented.
