It should be noted the higher diplomatic activity in the region of the new US President in comparison with the period of Obama's rule. This observation applies both to Donald Trump himself as well as to his milieu and the US state apparatus as a whole. Equally remarkable is the revival of the economic diplomacy of the leading Southeast Asian countries on American direction (first of all, this applies to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam). To a large extent, Trump's activity is explained by the fact that he has experience of his own on entrepreneurial activity in some Southeast Asian countries. It is also in line with its global commitment to reducing the US trade deficit for all partners in all regions of the world. And Southeast Asia is no exception, because in trade with the United States, Southeast Asia has an ever-growing surplus. Trump intends to change the current situation through the priority development of bilateral trade relations with these countries.
