Twenty years of the German unification: problems of estimate.

The article is dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the German unification. In her analysis of the economic development of the new regions (laender), the author emphasizes a change in the estimation of economic results and rhetoric of the discourse around the new laender. The problems of the new laender grow out of transformation problems into problems of under-developed regions. The author comes to the conclusion, that the process of transformation affected all but one site of economic live. The business class of the new laender is underdeveloped and it influences the economic growth of the region.
