The book deals with the analysis and conceptualization of contemporary socio-demographic shifts, examined within a broad geopolitical, socio-economic, and socio-cultural context. Research indicates that the very concept of demographic development is culturally determined, and its interpretations refl ect value cleavages in contemporary society, which has entered a period of prolonged, profound transformation. Special emphasis is placed on the study of key factors, components, main types, and global trends of changes in the state and dynamics of the population, as well as the role of traditional family values in this process. The infl uence of demographic processes on social dynamics and other areas of societal life has been assessed. Considerable attention is given to studying the evolution of family policy models in modern states. The demographic prospects of Russia and the potential of family policy measures and fostering traditional family values in improving the socio-demographic situation in the country are described.
