The People's Democratic Republic of Algeria is adapting its foreign policy to the new challenges and threats that the North African region is facing as a result of the Arab Spring, the coronavirus pandemic and the new global confrontation caused by the crisis in Ukraine. Under these circumstances, relations with global powers become even more significant for Algeria. The author compares bilateral cooperation on security and economic issues and comes to the conclusion that in the medium term, China and Russia will remain key partners for Algeria while the importance of the US will diminish.
