On December 10, 2024, the “Kommersant” newspaper website published an article by Nikolay Surkov, Head of the Group on Common Problems in the Region of the Laboratory “Center for the Middle East Studies” of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics), on new threats to Syria after the overthrow of President Assad.
