On October 28, 2025, Viktor Kuzminkov, Lead Researcher of the Group of Economics and Politics of Japan of the Center for Asia Pacific Studies of IMEMO, commented for the Vedomosti newspaper on the results of US President Donald Trump's visit to Japan.

In his commentary, V.V. Kuzminkov noted that both sides got what they wanted from the meeting: Japan was able to successfully introduce its new prime minister to Trump, and Trump will be able to proclaim his visit a "triumphant" one, during which he met with the Emperor and secured Japan's commitments amounting to several hundred billion dollars.
