On November 7, 2024, Maria Khorolskaya, Research Fellow of the Department for European Political Studies of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics), in her commentary for “Lenta.ru” about the reasons for the dismissal of German Finance Minister Christian Lindner and the collapse of the ruling coalition in Germany, noted that Lindner's actions were caused by a deliberate desire to destroy the coalition in order to get into the new Bundestag.
Lindner hopes that criticizing the current government gives his party a better chance to keep a seat in parliament.
