On December 13, 2023, Alexander Krylov, Chief Research Fellow of the Sector of the Caucasus of the Center for post-Soviet Studies of IMEMO, Dr. of Science (History), gave comments to the Armenian news and analytical agency “News of Armenia” – "NEWS.am":

•    Krylov assessed the consequences of the withdrawal of the Russian base from Armenia for Moscow and Yerevan

After that, Turkey and Azerbaijan may launch an operation to finally resolve the Armenian issue similar to the last operation in Karabakh.

•    Russian expert did not rule out the breakup of allied relations between Yerevan and Moscow

Relations between Yerevan and Moscow are at a turning point. The Armenian leadership in its policy demonstrates the desire to develop the Western vector in every possible way and to curtail the Russian vector, including by ignoring and not participating in the summits of integration associations, including CSTO, including at the highest level.
