On October 10, 2024, Elena Kuzmina, Head of the Sector of the Center for post-Soviet Studies of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics), took part in the program “Club of Chief Editors” on the OTR TV channel on the topic “CIS. While Everyone is at Home”.
The participants discussed the role of the CIS, whether it has prospects, why it is needed at all and why there are so many contradictions arise between the participating countries. Can the composition of the commonwealth change? Will Georgia, for example, return to it? And what will happen to Armenia? Won't our Asian neighbors quarrel with us because of migration policy? And why has Ukraine never formally left the CIS? Is all the talk about friendship between nations and some kind of unified post-Soviet space a myth or not at all?
