March 4, 2019 on the website of “Nezavisimaya Gazeta” published an article by the Leading Researcher of the Center for European Studies, Doctor of Science (Economics) M.V. Klinova - “Economic nationalism threatens to undermine the foundations of European integration. Disagreements between State and Business in the EU allow Chinese companies to conquer the markets of the Old World”.

"The entry of the Dutch State into the capital of the Air France-KLM, almost on a par with the French State (approximately 14% each), caused outrage in the France’s Government (since it happened without warning) and widespread approval in the Netherlands. The latter is important for the ruling right-wing conservative coalition led by Prime Minister M. Rutte on the eve of the European elections in May 2019. Today throughout the EU national motives are crushing the “European idea”…

…in the case of Air France-KLM, disagreements arose between the States of the two countries that were at the origin of the EU. Generally, the creation in strategic branches of joint ventures with the State capital from different countries is initially associated with some risks…

These disagreements are suggesting concerns about the prospects of European integration: nationalism wave gains force in the Economy (as well as in Politics)…"
