11The international roundtable conference on the topic “The Trade Union Movement in China and in Russia: the history and the present” was held via video conference on the platforms of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, Moscow, and the China University of Labor Relations, Beijing on March 31, 2022.
In the framework of the meeting the experts of the two countries discussed the similarities and the differences in the development of labor relations in Russia and in China, the role of the trade unions in their development and strengthening. Particular attention was paid to the analysis of the problems and the challenges, which the key participants face in social and labor relations in a changing world order.
Senior Researcher for the Center for Comparative Socio-Economic and Political Studies of the IMEMO Cand. of Science (Politics) Alexey Zenkov took part in the work of the roundtable conference. In a report, he drew attention of Chinese and Russian colleagues to the problems of professional personnel training. In particular, he noted the growing dysfunctions and imbalances characteristic of most modern educational systems, assessed their consequences for Russia and China, and outlined the possible ways out of the emerging crisis.
