Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations held the first meeting of the Analytical Club on the topic “The elections in the USA: will the agenda of the Russia-US relations change?”. The event was held online.

The participants of the meeting discussed such issues:

1. Are the results of the presidential and congressional elections the beginning of the new internal political storm in the USA?
2. How will the American political landscape change? Will it be possible to overcome the ideological split of the society and the elite?
3. The American Party Political System: How Many "Parties" Are There Among Republicans And Democrats?
4. The new administration: will there be the new priorities and approaches in the foreign policy?
5. Is there a chance for improvement of the Russian-American relations and in what areas? Can it get worse?
6. What are the prospects for the arms control system?

President of the IMEMO RAS Alexander Dynkin was the moderator of the event.

Director of the IMEMO RAS Feodor Voitolovsky and Senior Researcher at RAND Corporation Samuel Charap were the speakers.

Victoria Zhuravleva is the Head of the Center for North American Studies of the IMEMO RAS.
