XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2025”

On May 14, 2025, Academician Alexander Dynkin, President of IMEMO, moderated a special session of the Free Economic Society of Russia dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the United Nations Organization on the topic: “Towards a Multipolar World and Sustainable Development” within the framework of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2025”.

The session participants discussed the UN contribution to the search for answers to global challenges of sustainable development, to strengthening the foundations of a multipolar world and reforming the multilateral architecture of the world order; the role of integration associations in the formation of new poles of a multipolar world, the issues of ensuring global security through the implementation of the sustainable development agenda, as well as the prospects for achieving the sustainable development goals by 2030.

The session considered key aspects of the development of cooperation, trade, economic and technological cooperation between the member countries of the integration associations of the EAEU and SCO, interaction of the UN member states in achieving the sustainable development goals.
