On October 28, 2025, a meeting with the employees of the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) was held at IMEMO. The parties exchanged views on the progress of US-China trade negotiations, the likely development of relations between the US and Russia, the characteristics of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the conflict in Ukraine.

On the Chinese side, the meeting was attended by Li Ziguo, Director of the Department for European-Central Asian Studies, CIIS; Han Lu, Deputy Director of the Department for European-Central Asian Studies, CIIS; and Li Yan, Senior Researcher of the Department for European-Central Asian Studies, CIIS.

Representing the Russian side were Victoria Zhuravleva, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of IMEMO, Head of the Center for North American Studies, Cand. of Science (Politics); Konstantin Bogdanov, Head of the Strategic Analysis and Forecasting Sector, Cand. of Science (Technology); Sergey Lukonin, Head of the Sector of Economy and Politics of China, Cand. of Science (Economics); and Nikolai Nikolaev, Junior Research Fellow of the Sector of Economy and Politics of China.

The meeting was organized by the Center for Asia Pacific Studies of IMEMO.
