13On October 17-18, 2023 at the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University within the framework of the annual "Guber Readings", in a mixed format, the All-Russian scientific conference "Crisis as a Phenomenon and as an Event: Experience of Southeast and East Asia (History, Politics, Economics, Culture)" was held.
On October 17, the event was addressed by the employees of the Center for Development and Modernization Studies of IMEMO:
- Alexander Rogozhin, Head of the Group of Economic Problems, Cand. of Science (Economics), with the report "Import Substitution against the Background of the "Globalization Crisis" (from the experience of Southeast Asian countries)";
- Natalia Rogozhina, Chief Research Fellow, Dr. of Sciences (Politics), with the report "Fighting the Ñlimate Ñrisis in the Ñountries of Southeast Asia".
Memorial "Guber Readings", dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Russian scientist – Academician Alexander Guber, the founder of the systematic study of Southeast Asia, are traditionally held every two years and are devoted to a wide range of problems of development of the Southeast Asian region in all its complexity and diversity. The chronology of the conference covers both historical aspects and a wide range of contemporary issues.
The aim of the conference is to present and discuss the content and results of current scientific research in the field of history, religion, literature, culture, ethnology, political science and economics of Southeast Asian countries.
