
On January 22-23, 2024, the All-Russian Conference with international participation "The Concept of Russian Civilization" is being held at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The event is organized by the Center for the Study of Russian Statehood of the Faculty of Public Administration of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Irina Semenenko spoke at the plenary session "Russia as a 'State-Civilization': Peculiarities of the Concept in the Context of the Civilizational Approach", which was devoted to discussing of the substantive characteristics of the civilizational approach in the social sciences and the concept of "Russian civilization".
Irina Semenenko, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, made a presentation "Civilizational Identity and Discursive Power of the State". The presentation formulated the concepts of "civilizational identity" and "identity politics", examined the role of civilizational identity and the value-political projects promoted on its basis in the context of the discursive power of the state, and raised the question of the formation of the Russian civilizational discourse as an instrument of Russia's discursive power. The need for a change in the research optics in the vision of development guidelines, in the widest possible appeal in practical policy to its intangible resources, including the resources of identity, was substantiated.
