A meeting with the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation

Former Member of the European Parliament and former Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Martin Schulz made a report “Russia and Germany in the transforming world order: the challenges and the possibilities” at the IMEMO RAS.

President of the IMEMO, Academician of the RAS Alexander Dynkin delivered a welcoming speech. He highlighted the importance of the long-lasting cooperation between the IMEMO and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

In his report, Mr. Schultz covered the issues of the Russia-Germany relations in the political, economic, armament and social fields. He talked about the factors, which complicate the relations between Russia and Europe, about the military conflicts between world powers, touched upon the issues of nuclear weapons and upon the political and economic risks, which Europe and Russia may face.

Director of the IMEMO, Corresponding Member of RAS Feodor Voitolovsky moderated the event.
