243On November 20, 2025, a Regional Meeting of the International Scientific and Expert Forum "Primakov Readings" was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on the topic "Central Asia: Global Challenges for Regional Development".
The opening session was addressed by Academician Alexander Dynkin President of IMEMO, Feodor Voitolovsky, Director of IMEMO, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Abdulaziz Kamilov, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Javlon Vakhabov, Director of the International Institute for Central Asia.
The discussions were attended by IMEMO employees – Stanislav Zhukov, Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Eduard Solovyev, Head of the Center for post-Soviet Studies, Cand. of Science (Politics), Stanislav Pritchin, Head of the Sector for Central Asia, Cand. of Science (History), Irina Svistunova, Senior Researcher of the Center for the Middle East Studies, Cand. of Science (History), and Stanislav Lazovskii, Junior Research Fellow of the Center for the Middle East Studies, as well as experts from leading research institutes of India, China, Serbia, USA, Turkey, and Central Asian countries.
During the event, the experts discussed the place of Central Asia in the changinging global order, issues of cooperation and competition, trends in global resource markets, and opportunities and risks for ensuring security in the region.
The Regional Meeting of the Forum was organized jointly with the International Institute for Central Asia (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) with the support of Evgeny Primakov Center International Cooperation.
