Video Bridge "Russia-Kazakhstan: what Are the Future Prospects of Cooperation?"

On November 13, 2025, Elena Kuzmina, Head of the Sector of the Center for post-Soviet Studies of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Politics), took part in the Video Bridge “Astana-Moscow” on the topic "Russia-Kazakhstan: what Are the Future Prospects of Cooperation", which was held at the “Sputnik Kazakhstan” Multimedia Press Center.

The Roundtable was devoted to the results of the state visit of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Moscow on November 11-12. Following the visit, a Declaration on the transition of relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, as well as a number of agreements, were signed.

The Roundtable participants discussed the following questions:

  • Why will this visit be a “milestone” event in bilateral relations?
  • What will the signing of the declaration mean for ordinary citizens of two countries?
  • In what areas can we expect deeper cooperation?
  • How do they plan to expand cooperation in the energy sector?
  • How will transport corridors be developed and ties in education, science, and culture strengthened?
