We present to your attention the third issue in 2023 of the scientific online journal "Analysis and Forecasting. IMEMO Journal". This issue has three rubrics – "Theory and Methodology", "Global and Regional Security", "Dynamics of Social and Political Spaces".

The authors focus on the historical discourses of modern nation states from the point of view of the formation of national (national-state) identity and its influence on the position of the state in the system of international relations; UK participation in multilateral military-political structures to ensure its defense capability, greater subjectivity and influence in Europe and in the world with reliance on "special relationship" with the United States; the history of the British policy of slowing down global climate change from the 1990s to the country's decision to withdraw from the European Union; key factors that have had a particular impact on French foreign policy in 2022-2023 in its four problem areas: the development of European integration, the security crisis in Europe, the knot of contradictions in the Indo-Pacific region and the situation in Africa; the impact of Brexit on the dynamics of the devolution process in the UK through the prism of opportunities and constraints for the British regions to achieve for themselves a greater political subjectivity.
