Under the auspices of the International Forum “Primakov Readings” the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO RAS), the Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation named after E.M. Primakov and The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund held the third youth session in the form of the roundtable conference “The crises and the conflicts of the future: the view of the young scientists” on June 8-9, 2019.
The participants of the discussion were fifteen young scientists - the winners of the contest, organized for post-graduates, workers of the higher education institutions and research institutes, public and non-profit organizations, and independent experts specializing in world economy, political science, international relations, international law, international security, sociology, demography, modern and contemporary history.
Chief Executive of the Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation named after E.M. Primakov, Deputy Chief Executive of The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund Roman Grishenin addressed the participants with the welcoming speech. He emphasized the importance of the participation of the young scientists in the discussion of the modern global challenges.
Director of the IMEMO RAS, Corresponding Member of the RAS Dr. of Science (Politics) Feodor Voitolovsky agreed with the Head of the Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation named after E.M. Primakov. “We’re glad to hold the “Primakov Readings” for the fifth time and to precede it by the Youth Section for the third time”, he said. According to the Head of the IMEMO RAS, candour was the style of the “Primakov Readings”.
In the framework of the roundtable conference “The crises and the conflicts of the future: the view of the young scientists” the participants from different regions of Russia, CIS and foreign countries presented their own view on the prospects of the development of the international relations.
On June 10-11 they took part in the “Primakov Readings” and got the opportunity to meet with the leading experts, the former and the current government officials and the representatives of the business sector.
