Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations RAS Dr. Vasily Mikheev took part in the report launch and discussion at the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS-Americas). The launch of a report was the product of over two years of Track II dialogue between Asia-Pacific experts from the two countries. The panel discussed US and Russian policy in Asia and detailed the report's recommendations.
Speakers: Dr Kurt Campbell is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Asia Group, Chairman of CNAS and a Director for Standard Chartered Bank. From 2009–2013, he was Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
Dr Vasily Mikheev is Deputy Director of the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO), Russian Academy of Sciences, with responsibility for the Institute’s work on the Asia-Pacific. He is the author of approximately 300 publications including seven monographs.
The meeting was chaired by Dr Samuel Charap, Senior Fellow for Russia and Eurasia and took place at IISS–Americas, 2121 K Street NW, Suite 801, Washington, DC 20037.
