The Spring-Summer issue of “Pathways to Peace and Security” (no. 1(60), 2021) is out.

The issue focuses on the impact of digitalization that has gained further momentum during the Covid-19 pandemic on conflicts and peace talks, and on international digital struggles, with the technological confrontation between the United States and China as the main case in point. Special attention is also paid to the crises in political transition in Belarus, the United States, and Myanmar in the late 2010s – early 2020s. Articles on the ongoing armed conflicts and peace processes focus on the Afghan and Middle Eastern contexts. Studies in arms control address the withdrawal of the United States, followed by Russia, from the Open Skies Treaty. In the political economy section, relations between indigenous peoples and large agricultural or resource corporations, including conflicts between them, are explored in the cases of Brazil and Russia’s Arctic region, respectively.
