The IX Convention of the Russian International Studies Association

On 28 October 2015 as part of the IX RISA Convention a section dedicated to international organisations interaction and informal forums within the global economic governance took place. The section was chaired by the Head of Sector of Institutional Problems in International Relations (IMEMO) Doctor Marina Strezhneva.
 
The work of the section was attended by IMEMO specialists Andrey Bardin, Vasilisa Kulakova, Daria Rudenkova, Catherine Savorskaya, as well as the Deputy Director of International Organisations Research Institute (HSE) Mark Rakhmangulov and Assistant Professor of Regional Policy and Political Geography of the Institute of Earth Sciences (St. Petersburg State University) Natalia Mikheeva.
 
The participants discussed the methods of global financial regulation and issues devoted to the dilemma of legitimacy and efficiency of the international organizations and institutions. Discussion also touched the problem of transformation of the system of cooperation in the Black Sea Region. The speakers gave their assessment of various aspects of the role of the G20, the BSEC, the IMF, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and the European Union in the global economic governance on examples like transatlantic partnership, climate control, and the international and European football.
