On April 21, 2005 a workshop from a series Legislative Aspects of the Global Partnership was held at IMEMO. It was arranged within a framework of Strengthening Global Partnership Project conducted jointly with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, located in Washington, DC. The workshop was devoted to debates on ratification by the Russian Federal Assembly (Parliament) of the Immunity Agreement concluded between the Russian Federation and the International Science and Technology Center. Dr. Natalia Kalinina, Principal Researcher, IMEMO, formerly Advisor to Russia’s Prime Minister on the Global Partnership, delivered her remarks. Representatives of the Russian Parliament, federal agencies, academic community and non-governmental organizations attended the meeting. The affair was close to mass media. The workshop was moderated by Dr. Alexander Pikayev, Director, Department for Disarmament and Conflict Resolution, IMEMO, and Strengthening Global Partnership-IMEMO Project Director.was held at IMEMO.
