“International Organizations Research Journal: Education, Science, New Economy” (No. 2, 2023) published an article by Marina Strezhneva, Chief Research Fellow of IMEMO, entitled "Carbon Levy of the European Union: at the Intersection of Climate and Trade Policies".
The article provides a comprehensive institutional analysis of the logic of the European Commission's actions in the implementation of the mechanism of transboundary carbon regulation. Priority attention is given to the delicate balance between its justification by the EC as a measure to prevent "carbon leakage" and the objectives that the European Union sets for the sake of ensuring more favorable conditions for competition for European producers on international markets.
