49The journal "Economy and Management: Problems, Solutions" (No. 6, Vol. 9) published an article by Maxim Potapov, Chief Research Fellow of the Center for Asia Pacific Studies of IMEMO, Dr. of Science (Economics), together with Elena Zavyalova, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Public-Private Partnership of MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Associate Professor, Dr. of Science (Economics), and Tatyana Krotova, Lecturer of the Department, "China’s Energy Development and Prospects for Russian-Chinese Cooperation in the Gas Sector".
The development of gas cooperation between Russia and China has become an important factor in strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries. The growth of China’s economy is caused by the outpacing growth of energy consumption and creates a stable demand for Russian energy resources. Further expansion of Russian-Chinese energy relations will largely depend on deepening investment cooperation and mutual production cooperation.
