The third issue of the “Russia in Global Affairs“ journal (May/June, 2023) published articles by IMEMO staff.

Article "Deterrence in the Era of Small Forms" by Konstantin Bogdanov, Senior Researcher of the Sector of Military-Political Analysis and Research Projects of the Center for International Security, Cand. of Science (Technology), is devoted to the problems of the transformation of nuclear deterrence at the present stage. After 2014, the word "deterrence" has righfully returned to the lexicon of international experts and politicians. After 2022, this return seems irreversible. But what kind of deterrence are the parties returning to?

Article "Lessons from the Second Echelon" by Alina Vernigora and Ilya Kramnik, Research Fellows of the Group of Risk Assessment of the Center for Strategic Planning Studies, discusses the history and prospects for the development of the defense industry and the system of military-technical cooperation in Turkey.

Article "Turning Across the Line” by Dmitry Stefanovich and Alexander Yermakov, Research Fellows of the Sector of Military Economy and Innovations of the Center for International Security, describes the lessons of the armed conflict in Ukraine for the defense industry.
