On October 16-17, the 5th All-Russian Scientific Conference "Russia as a Civilization: Socio-Cultural Foundations of Russian Life" was held in Moscow and St. Petersburg, organized by the Institute of Sociology of the Federal Center of Theoretical and Applied Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

IMEMO employees also participated in the conference (online).

In the section "Political and Civilizational Processes in Russia and Eurasia", Maxim Sigachev, Research Fellow of the Center for Comparative Socio-Economic and Political Studies, Cand. of Science (Politics), presented a report "Concept of 'Island Russia' as a Civilization-State Within the Framework of Civilizational Geopolitics of Vadim Tsymbursky and Idea of Sovereign Development". In his presentation, he highlighted current aspects of the legacy of the outstanding philosopher Vadim Tsymbursky in the context of contemporary realities and innovations in the civilizational approach.

In the section "Religious and Secular: Problems of Conceptualization and Empirical Variability", Sergei Arteev, Research Fellow of the Center for Comparative Socio-Economic and Political Studies, Cand. of Science (Politics), presented a joint report with Maxim Sigachev "Post-Secular Society and Russia: Toward Neo-Archaicism?". The report characterized the socio-political situation in Russia and abroad in a religious context, presented possible trajectories of political evolution within the "government - religious institutions - society" triangle, indicated some risks associated with post-secular trends. Following the report, an in-depth discussion with Alexey Appolonov, Lead Researcher of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dr. of Science (Philosophy) took place.

On December 9, 2025, the State Academic University for the Humanities held an International Roundtable “Socio-Humanitarian Knowledge in Scientific and Educational Transfers of Countries of Eurasian Space". In the framework of the Roundtable section "Socio-Humanitarian Education and National-Cultural Values of Countries of Eurasian Space" Alexey Zenkov presented a report "Prospects and Limitations of Scientific and Educational Integration in the EAEU".
