On November 27, 2024 at 12:00 in the Academician Inozemtsev conference hall an Inter-Institutional Seminar of the Center for Development and Modernization Studies of IMEMO “Modern Development Problems” will be held in a mixed format on the topic: “Parties and Castes in the Political Dynamics of India Today”.

Seminar coordinator: Alexandra Yakovleva, Head of the Center for Development and Modernization Stidies, Cand. of Science (Politics).

The reports will be delivered by the employees of the Center for Development and Modernization Studies:

• Dmitry Abramov, Senior Researcher, Cand. of Science (Politics), – “The struggle of Political Parties in India on the Eve of National Elections in the Changed World Situation”;
• Yana Sadovnikova, Research Fellow, Cand. of Science (History), – “The Republic of India after the 2024 Parliamentary Elections: Factors and Incentives for Economic Growth”;
• Evgeniy Rashkovsky, Chief Research Fellow, Dr. of Science (History), – “Christianity in India”.

Invited experts:

• Andrey Volodin, Chief Research Fellow of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research of INION of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dr. of Science (History).
• Tatiana Shaumyan, Head of the Center for Indian Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Cand. of Science (History).
